BARI: I was invited to give two seminars, one on May 29, 2002 at Bari Politechnics, and on May 30, 2002, at Bari University.
BOCHUM: A collaboration is made with Pr. Jean-Claude Muller of the Ruhr University of Bochum regarding cartography in the future, and regarding auditory urban information systems.
BRISTOL: With Pr. Paul Longley of the University of Bristol, and chief editor of Computers, Environment and Urban Systems, several collaborations were made regarding special issues of this journal: among others, best papers of UDMS, of JECC-GI, of the workshops on Groupware for Urban Planning and on TeleGeoProcessing.
CAGLIARI: I was invited by Pr. Clemente, and Pr. Vanni Maciocco of the University of Cagliari to give a seminar in October 1983.
CAMBRIDGE: I stayed one year (1976-1977), as a research associate of the Martin Centre for Architectural and Urban Studies, of the University of Cambridge, with Dr. Marcial Echenique, who created the firm MEP (Marcial Echenique and Partners, one of the worldwide leader in landuse and transportation consulting.
CATANIA: I was invited by Pr. San Filippo of the University of Catania to give a seminar in May 1984.
DUBLIN: I was invited at the University College Dublin for the PhD committee of Tarik Rashid on August 2006.
ENSCHEDE: I gave a talk at ITC in June 1985.
GENEVA: I was invited to give a seminar by Pr. Dennis Tzichritsis in December 1988, and in February 1989.
GENOA: In Genoa, I have had several collaborations. Dr Carlo Schenone was one of my previous PhD student (PhD subject). Now he is teaching computing and a GIS consultant. Dr Michela Spagnuolo was also one of my previous PhD student (PhD subject). She is researcher at the CNR, Institute for Applied Maths and Information Technologies, directed by Dr. Falcidieno. I gave a seminar in September 1993 in this Institute.

I gave a seminar on October, 11, 2000 in the Computing Department of the University of Genoa after an invitation from Leila De Floriani.
KARLSRUHE: I was invited in November 2003 to give a seminar at the Computing Department of the Technical University of Karlsruhe.
KHARKOV: I was asked by the French Cities Agency (Previously known as National Institute for Urban Engineering of Lyon (INGUL) to make a seminar at the Kharkov Municipal State Academy in June 1998.
L'AQUILA: I was invited from October 12 to 15, 1999 to make research with Paolino Di Felice and Eliseo Clementini. Moreover Eliseo Clementini has decided to make a PhD under my supervion.
LAUSANNE: I gave a seminar in March 1990 thanks for the collaboration with Pr. Francois Golay and Pr. Stefano Spaccapietra of the Swiss Polytechnic Institute of Lausanne.
LIEGE: My contact is Pr. Albert Dupagne of the University of Liege, who is also the coordinator of the COST-Urban Civil Engineering, Information Systems project.
Jacques Teller of this University visited me several times. He is the leader of the Towntology European Project (COST C21).
LISBON: My contact is Antonio ARNAUD of the New University of Lisbon, who is also a member of the UDMS board.
After more than twenty year waiting, his PhD was finally submitted in May 2000.
LONDON: I was in the PhD committe of Muki Haklay in August 2001 at University College London, supervised by Dr. Paul Densham.
LUXEMBURG: Several studies and works were made with the Egerie company in Luxemburg, especially for designing and implementing the GIS of several administrations of the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg.
MILAN: I was invited to give seminars in October 1985 and in June 1990, thanks to Pr. Cugini and Pr. Giampio Bracchi of the Politecnico di Milano. I gave another one in March 2005, at the Como branch of Polimi.
A jointly awarded Ph'D was decided for Alice POzzoli with Pr. Luigi Mussio. The defence is planned Springtime 2007.
NEAPLES: I was invited by FORMEZ in September 1994 to give a seminar.
I also gave a seminar at the Frederico II University of Neaples on January 2008.
PADUA: My contact is Massimo Rumor who is also president of the UDMS board.
I gave a seminar at the Municipality of Padua in May 1987.
PALMA: In Palma de Majorca, with Tim Nyerges, and David Mark we organized a NATO Advanced Research Workshop on Cognitive Aspects of Human-Computer Interaction for Geographic Information Systems, in Palma de Majorca, Spain in March 1994. See the proceedings.
PAMPLONA: I gave a talk at the municipality of Pamplona in November 1989 during the XIth JIAL.
PATRAS: My contact is Pr. Nicos Polydorides, responsible of the previous URSA-NET project who invited several times to give seminars at the University of Patras.
PERUGIA: I gave a seminar in November 1990 invited by Luciano Giacchè of the Provincia of Perugia.
I was invited again by Istituto Nazionale d'Urbanistica at Villa Umbra, to give a seminar on telegeomonitoring for the management of urban risks on 10 April 2000.
PISA: I was invited to give a seminar by Dr. Antonio Albano of the University of Pisa, in November 1987.
I gave also a seminar in June 2003, invited by Pr. Silvana Lombardo, director of the doctoral school on urban planning.
POTENZA: I was invited to give a seminar on January 2007 by Pr. Giuseppe Las Casas.
SALERNO: I was invited by Pr. Genny Tortora to give three seminars on October 29,30 and 31, 2001, and also in January 2006 at the Department of Informatics of the University of Salerno. A co-supervised PhD was launched for Vincenzo Del Fatto with Drsa Giuliana Vitiello. Another talk was given in January 2007, and a one-week course on January 2008.
TRIESTE: I was invited to give a seminar in June 1986 at the University of Trieste by Anna Maria Carminelli and at the Institute for International Sociology of Gorizia (ISIG).
TURIN: I gave several seminars at the Politecnico di Torino thanks to Pr. CS Bertuglia and Dr. Franco Vico in January 1985 and in April 1994.
With Franco Vico we gave a paper to the Tokyo Second International Workshop on Urban 3D/Multi-Media Mapping on Sept. 30-Oct. 2, 1999.
VENICE: Each year, I am giving course in the GIS degree at the IUAV University of Venice under the responsiblity of Pr. Luigi Di Prinzio. See the course details, Italian only. I gave many seminars in this university. Also, I gave a seminar on April 12, 2007 at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice, invited by Pr. Augusto Celentano.
